If you need to delete lines from a head contract variation after it has been approved there are a few conditions that need to be met


You will need the Client Administrator for your site to confirm you have the correct user permissions.

The variation cannot have been claimed on an existing progress claim.

The line you wish to delete in the variation cannot be marked as approved (status of ).


Permissions:

In System > User and License > Find user in question and click Edit .


Under modules highlight 'Head Contract Variations' and below that under 'Function Name' ensure 'Unapprove variation details' is selected



Progress Claim:

If the variation is part of a progress claim it cannot be altered.   If  you need to delete or modify lines while it is part of the last progress claim, you can change the amount claimed against the variation back to zero(0) in the progress claim.   If it is a previous claim, you can't delete the variation line.


Line Status:

The line cannot be deleted unless it has a status of ? or x

If the line has a status of   you will need to change it and select the save changes before you are able to delete.


If all the above criteria are met you should see a delete button above the table at the bottom of the screen.  If you click this you will get a confirmation message and see the line you selected fade out slightly.


You will also notice the save changes button light up underneath the table, you must hit save changes to confirm the deletion.
