The Calendar in Buildlogic is available from 2 places. They are:

1. Dashboard – there is a View in Calendar under the ‘To Do’ list



2. From the Bell icon at the top right of the screen.



You can manually add things to the Calendar, including Meetings and General Tasks, plus the Buildlogic software will also add tasks such as Variation Approvals and Subbie Retention Return dates which will be automatically to the Calendar.



Viewing the Calendar

When in the Calendar, it can be viewed in various different ways – by Day, Work Week, Full Week Month and Agenda plus if you have the permission, you can view other user’s calendar entries by clicking on the name field. A list of users who calendar you are able to view is displayed.



The small icon, highlighted in yellow above allows you to produce an Agenda view of the data. As with any other report in Buildlogic, it can then be exported to a Word document or printed.



Adding entries Into Calendar

There are multiple ways that entries get entered into the Calendar.


Firstly, automatic entries that appear in the Dashboard, including Variations requiring approval, Subbie contract overspends and Certificate expiry details will all appear in the Calendar.


For entries that are not automatically generated by Buildlogic, these can be manually created in the Calendar. On the right of the screen, there is a blue icon – ‘New Appointment’ as shown below.



The following window opens.



In this screen, enter the information you require to be added to the Calendar and it will also appear in the Dashboard.


Most of the fields on this screen are self-explanatory. One of the important fields is the Assign to: field which allows you to assign the appointment/task to another user of Buildlogic.


Alternatively, you can click on a time slot in the Calendar and an arrow will be displayed which will take you to a dropdown list from which you can also create a new calendar entry, go to a specific date or change the way you view your calendar – Day, work week, etc.



If you select to create a new appointment New Recurring Appointment from this screen, the following is displayed with a couple of different options at the bottom to add reoccurring dates.




Deleting or Editing an Entry in Calendar

If you hover over the entry and do a single mouse click, the following is displayed.




Viewing Information in Dashboard

The ‘To Do’ section of the Dashboard can start to get very busy with the information coming from the Calendar and automatic entries from the functions within Buildlogic.


If you want to limit what you see in the ‘To Do’ section, five tick boxes have been added to group or limit what you see. The five tick boxes are at the top of the Dashboard. For example, if you don’t want to see Contract information, untick the box.


Whenever you return to the dashboard the unticked box will remain unticked.



To remove items from your ‘To Do’ list on the Dashboard, either tick the box in the column Tick to Complete or click on the hyperlink, which will take you to the function it relates to and complete the function that is required.


NOTE: This is the Release 1 of the Calendar. It will be expanded during further development to include more functions including tasks from a Gantt chart.
