Buildlogic integrates with Xero via a sync tool built into the software, this tool pulls all the transactions from Xero into a holding file behind Buildlogic. Functions in Buildlogic will then display information based off the transactions in this holding file. The Sync runs automatically 3 times a day but can also be run manually if required at any stage via the run sync option in Buildlogic.   This tool displays the date and time the last sync ran, as well as keeping historical logs of the sync. The logs can be used for tracking what stage the current sync is up to or for general troubleshooting.

  1. Are all jobs managed in one Xero company file or can jobs be connected to different Xero company files?
    1. Multiple different Xero company files can be set up in Buildlogic and jobs can be allocated to any of these at the time of creation.
  2. Does income and expenditure go to the same Xero company file?
    1. In Buildlogic you have the ability to send income to one Xero company file and expenses to a different company file if required.
  3. Which Xero login should I use to connect Buildlogic?
    1. Buildlogic needs to authenticate to Xero using an account that has administrator rights; this is to ensure the program has the ability to access information required to keep the data correct and up to date.
  4. Do I need to set up a Xero income account?
    1. A Xero income account needs to be provided, this will be linked to Buildlogic and allow the program to send progress claims to Xero against this specific account.
  5. I hold retention on my subcontractors or have retention held against me, how does Buildlogic manage this through Xero?
    1. A defects liability account must be set up in Xero, Buildlogic will link to this much like the income account, here Buildlogic will keep track of the retentions that are held and when they are returned.
  6. I would like to manage my payroll/timesheets, how does Buildlogic interface with Xero accounting software to achieve this?

  9. I have all my contacts set up in Xero, do I have to enter them again into Buildlogic manually?
    1. Any suppliers and customers can be imported directly from Xero into Buildlogic saving you the need to manually re-enter them again, conversely if you have your contacts set up in Buildlogic you can also send these direct to Xero.
  10. How are jobs linked to Xero for tracking?
    1. Xero has a function called tracking categories, Buildlogic uses this function in order to link jobs to Xero. Once the tracking category called 'jobs' is set up in Xero, Buildlogic will be able to send jobs direct to Xero and you will also be able to allocate transactions to that job from Xero itself.
