NOTE: You can print these notes.   In Buildlogic go to question mark icon A blue circle with a white question mark in it

Description automatically generated, top right of screen.   You will be presented with a list of items in the Buildlogic Knowledge Base.   Scroll down to the section called Release Notes, View all notes.   These release notes will be at the bottom of the list.    You can click on the note to open, right click and select print.

1.  Variation Import - Sometimes you may have details for a variation in an excel spreadsheet.  With this release you can now import from an excel into the variation details.

Firstly, you will need to get the format needed to import.  Go it an existing variation with at least one line that is coded.

Select Export to/Export to XLSX.   The excel will have a header row and detail rows.   You can use this to produce your information in the correct format.

Once you have the excel ready, copy the lines including the header line, go into a new variation, other functions dropdown, and select Paste from clipboard.   The information will be imported into Buildlogic and select Save Changes.

2.  Estimate - Construction Budget - Whether you create your budgets in Buildlogic or import them from say Cubit, Dindo or any other import function, many times the estimate budget is broken down in detail and this detail is not necessary when managing the construction.   For example, you may have many, many lines in the budget for concrete place, but you may want to raise a payment schedule in contract to the subbie broken down into a simpler format, with the change in this release, you can summarise your budget by the following ways prior to converting to a job.   These options are in a dropdown - Copy Estimate as shown below.

You will be able to edit the summarised estimate as required before converting to a job.   This will then become your Construction Budget on converting to a job.

There are a few rules that apply.

  a.  The whole Estimate will be copied and will create the next Estimate number.  If you want to use the original estimate number, you will need to renumber the original estimate with a dummy number and renumber the new estimate with the correct estimate number you want to use when it is converted to a job.

 b.  Every trade in the estimate will be converted based on your choice.  Say you don't want Preliminaries broken down, you will need to copy that trade from the original into the existing and delete the trade that was summarised.

 c. When converting, the conversion will take the first cost code, reference code and item depending on your choice.   For example, if I was converting by cost code - SC and I had 2 items in the trade with SC but different reference codes, the system will select the first reference code.

 d.  Every line in each trade will have a quantity of 1.

You will be able to edit the summarised estimate as required before converting to a job.   This will then become your Construction Budget on converting to a job.

3.  New Admin Function - Lists/Deleted records - If you have Buildlogic administrator rights, you can now view deleted records.  For example, a user might say they can't find say a PO, you as the Administrator can now look to make sure the record was not deleted and if you find the record in the deleted records, you can scroll to the right and see who deleted the record and when.   This applies to the areas listed in the dropdown as shown below.

4. Approval Levels - If you are using approval process in Buildlogic for subbie payments and purchases you can now set $ limits against individual users.    This also applies to Sending purchases, Head Contract Claims and Subbie claims to the Accounting System.      These can be set up by your Buildlogic Administrator against a use's profile.   See this screenshot below.   In this instance, this user has a limit of $200,000.   This needs to be done against each function.

If nothing is set up the default amount is 0.   In this case the check does not apply.
